Arkham and Chainlink Bring Arkham Data Onchain

We’re pleased to announce that we are teaming up with Chainlink to make our labeling endpoint data available onchain through Chainlink Functions - the leading serverless developer platform for offchain API connectivity and verifiable computation. Chainlink Functions will provide developers with seamless onchain access to our labeling endpoint, which is the part of our API that takes a blockchain address as input, references our database, and then outputs any applicable intelligence from the Arkham database, namely, the real-world owner of the address.

We chose to bring our data onchain with Chainlink because it is the industry-standard Web3 services platform, with a time-tested history of providing developers on any blockchain with secure access to real-world data, offchain compute, and cross-chain services needed to build feature-rich smart contract applications. To date, the Chainlink Network has delivered 10.3B+ data points onchain and helped enable $8.5 trillion in value across 15+ blockchains. 

Making our labeling endpoint data available onchain through Chainlink Functions makes it simple for Web3 application developers to easily incorporate Arkham data into their dApps - unlocking a new frontier of use cases. For example, the product team for a DeFi application can use Arkham’s data for increased insights into what types of addresses and crypto entities are the most active users, and implement the data directly in their dApp to provide tailored experiences. Other select use cases include:

• Helping users identify their real-world counterparties
• Assessing risk across addresses owned by the same entity
• Calculating and distributing rewards to users with multiple addresses
• Pointing to entities tied to a set of tags that updates dynamically

To start, we will build Chainlink modules that developers can integrate to fetch, compute, and output information from the Arkham labeling endpoint API. Expert Chainlink developers will then be able to compute custom queries in a verifiable manner using Functions’ serverless developer platform, enabling trust-minimized compute for specific data requests.
