The German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) seized almost 50,000 BTC ($2.12B) from the operators of Movie2k.to, a film piracy website that was active in 2013. The BKA received the Bitcoin in mid-January after a ‘voluntary transfer’ from the suspects.
We previously noted large movements of dormant BTC from 2013 when the BTC was originally seized. We can now confirm that these movements represented transfers from the accused website operators to the German Government. Track subsequent movements and transfers using the German Government’s Arkham Entity.
